I have been a bit higher at 39,6 grains, but that was with the winchester primers. The speed was a bit more than I wanted and the group was going the wrong way. I do not think it is worth pushing over the standard military speed for safety reasons, and I'm only shooting paper! But 39,3 seems to be close to the 2440 feet per second with this powder and the 174grain Matchkings. A better shot than I could do better with this rifle, I'm sure of that. I tried the lower charge of 38,8 to see if Shamu's result of improving group size with a lower velocity would suit my rifle! That did not seem to be the case. Although I had not gone as low on velocity with this charge as expected. These primers do seem to have improved the regularity which was the primary objective. I can now make up a larger batch and test them under normal conditions at 200 metres.
