My very first deer I took down with 180grn Winchester RN. He was in a full run heading into a raveen. The first shot took his right rear leg off. The second shot broke his spine just over his haunches. He was still in a run when the third shot hit his lungs and heart. The whole time my dad was shouting out aim corrections. ( I was using a No4Mk1 Savage with original sights and the L flip sight.) We walked off just under 700 paces to where he dropped from the last shot. We found the remains of his leg which was left for food for the other critters. His spine was missing a good chunk and the through and through third shot left a fist size hole that hit his front right leg breaking his hoof off. The heart and one lung was decimated.
