What are you planing to hunt? If you are concerned about barrel life, keep the velocity down and raise your killing energy with a heavier projectile. At 2400 fps and 150 grain bullet, you're knocking back a muzzle energy of 1900 ft-lbs. With a 180 grain at the same velocity you are looking at 2300 ft-lbs. If you want to approach 2300 ft-lbs with 150 grain projectile you will need to raise your velocity to something like 2650 fps. That is extra wear and tear on the rifling.
