So roughly what sort of "Jump" do you allow, and what is your OAL with the Hornady 150g head - Not that mine would be exactly the same. I have found that with the 180g FMJ head the OAL is as near as possible right on the maximum stated in the data that I have.

![]() I find the Hornadys to be the best 150 gr variation because of the bullet shape. I seat them to almost the same length as a 174 Gr bullet which gives me a good length of the bullet in the case neck while not having a long bullet jump to the throat. It makes the crimp groove unusable because its in front of the case mouth. It doesn't effect me as I don't crimp anyway, preferring to use a higher neck tension instead. For reference Mk VII ball & a 150 Hornady side by side. The Hornady is the SP with the visible crimping groove. ![]() |
