I started out trying to get a minimum of 1 diameter (0.311") inside the case neck. I was concerned the shorter 150 Gr bullets might have a problem. I'd read this was a good way to ensure a concentric "run" into the leade. That was what I based it on, using a caliper to ensure I was withing the maximum COAL.

Then I discovered I could just work back from the lands instead & stay in spec. Like you say I can give you numbers, but they won't mean much in your chamber.

I run 3.069" COAL with the Hornadys, but if i try that with the Speer 150 Gr bullets I only have a minimal amount of the bullet in the case neck. Because of the different bullet profile I back those heads off to a 3.059" & its still only a minimal insertion into the case neck.
