I assume you must have a .303 with quite a tight bore i.e. .311". I've heard of people using .308 in a .303 but they have to be shot a lower velocity. You are only running in the grooves at a .0025" depth, but if you have a rifle with the 5 and 5 rifling, the .308 bullets should spin fine. After all the newer Marlin 30-30's with micro-groove have a bore diameters of .304", with a groove depth of .002, there are, of course, a few more grooves, with the micro-grooving.
